Samsung Stacked Washer Vibration Repair

What was happening

The washer was shaking excessively during spin. The tub had too much uncontrolled movement because the suspension shock absorbers had failed. As the tub repeatedly shifted and struck surrounding components, the upper counterweight was damaged and the door boot was torn.

This was more than a normal “noisy washer” complaint. Continuing to run the unit in this condition could have caused further damage and increased the risk of leakage from the damaged door boot.

What we repaired

Completed diagnostics to identify the cause of the excessive vibration.
Removed the dryer from the stacked setup to safely access the washer.
Disassembled the washer and identified failed suspension shocks, a damaged counterweight, and a torn door boot.
Ordered the necessary replacement parts.
Replaced the suspension shock absorbers, counterweight, and door boot.
Reassembled the washer and reinstalled the dryer after the repair.
Checked tub movement, door sealing, and washer operation after reassembly.

Why severe washer vibration should be checked early

Suspension damage can spread

When shocks no longer control the tub, repeated impact can damage counterweights, springs, hoses, wiring, or the outer tub area.

Door boot damage can lead to leaks

A torn front-load washer door boot can allow water to escape during a cycle. It should be repaired before using the washer again.

Stacked units require extra access work

With a dryer installed above the washer, the upper unit often needs to be removed and reinstalled to safely complete a major washer repair.

Signs you should stop using the washer and schedule service

A little vibration can be normal. Heavy banging, movement across the floor, or visible tub contact with the cabinet is not. Stopping use early can reduce the chance of additional damage.

The washer bangs loudly or walks across the floor during spin.
